Been looming i to the egr blanking today for an hr and got thu ki g is tgere any reason not to get an induction kit also tberes loads cheap on ebay, and does it really matter if its a uni ersal or from a different vehicle?
Ive looked at the panel filters but they seem expensive if there not washable / re-usable on the next service wwhich is the reason i looked at the induction kits as my old hyundai coupe one wash washable from piper cross..

An induction kit would make very little difference to a diesel. I have a pipercross air filter on my td4 and the only real benefit is a more consistent air flow and the fact you can just clean it rather than replace it.
If you really want more power, bite the bullet and buy a tuning box or have your engine remapped, you'll get upto an extra 34 ftlb depending on what you have done.

Main reason is so dont need to keep buying new filters and it will help spose when i get around to fitting an upgrade box lime synergy or something (not researched yet) and im getting a good engine flush injector clean etc in the following weeks now the nephews garage bought a machine to do the job i stead of the forte aerosol cleaning systems.

Are they not universal other than neck size?

My L series had a universal cone filter and i thought the car seamed to rev alot freer but other than that nowt....

a filter along with a remap tho would make a improvement tho

Don't bother with an induction kit on a TD4. The standard filter is large and so will flow more than enough air to supply the engine. If you don't want to keep buying paper filters then buy a washable standard size filter replacement. This generally avoids insurance problems too as it's a direct non mod swap. Don't buy cheap induction kits, they neither filter or flow as much air as the standard filter.

+1 on my TD4 it will be K&n no doubt already in my watch list lol

Fit a washable panel filter into the standard filter box. It's more than large enough for the possible 150 bhp a tuned L series produce.

My td4 revs more easily now I have a K&N filter.
The EGR blanking kit is keeping that rush of air free from exhaust gas.
Synergy box is dispatched so will soon find out what that's like.
