Can anyone tell me where to get the pentagon allen key for the rear piston retention grub screw /
IMO when it's about brakes which can be dangerous for others as long as you dont care about yourself nothing is too expensive..;. shame on those who sell such ''rebuild kits" for brakes ..it should be interdicted by law, even if it's aftermarket at least it's tested on a bench to be ISO compliant and it's not £200 http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.co...linders&group=Brake Master Cylinder&year=1996 albeit i'd not fit other than genuine on my vehicle... £200 once at around 15-20 years is not too much to be safe.... just my opinnion....liability apart this is a ploy to make someone spend £200 for an exchange item....
But those of us who have extensive experience and knowledge about hydraulic systems don't to be dictated to by those who have no knowledge of hydraulic systems and refuse to be talked down to by those who spout "interdicted by law " , go spout elesewhere.IMO when it's about brakes which can be dangerous for others as long as you dont care about yourself nothing is too expensive..;. shame on those who sell such ''rebuild kits" for brakes ..it should be interdicted by law, even if it's aftermarket at least it's tested on a bench to be ISO compliant and it's not £200 http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.com/en/ui/products.php?model=Discovery 1&engine=300Tdi&cattext=Braking&subcattext=Brake Cylinders&group=Brake Master Cylinder&year=1996 albeit i'd not fit other than genuine on my vehicle... £200 once at around 15-20 years is not too much to be safe.... just my opinnion
I've never seen anything similar for sale.
Maybe you'll have to create one yourself with a piece of bar and a grinder ?
Where have you got replacement mastercylinder seals from ?
TRW decided a long time ago not to provide replacement internal parts to prevent re-assembly cock-ups & possible liability issues due to very significant safety issues (eg "experts" putting the seals in back to front etc - lol)
Do you undrerstand what "IMO" means m8? ...though your extensive experience seems quite inextensive based on the ineptitude you postedBut those of us who have extensive experience and knowledge about hydraulic systems don't to be dictated to by those who have no knowledge of hydraulic systems and refuse to be talked down to by those who spout "interdicted by law " , go spout elesewhere.
Get over yourself.... you might have huge experience in terrestrial brake systems by being a marine hydraulics expert ... what happened last time when you pushed the brakes on a boat or on a submarine?I've been doing my job on largely marine hydraulics for many years now ,
I completely agree.waterford103 said:I suppose there's always one a_hole in any group
