Hi guys so ive got a 2004 td5 manual and ive had it a week now I bought it off my father in law who said its got an issue with the biting point being basically on the floor so it had been stood 9 months when I picked it up and I couldn't get it into gear and I rolled off and managed to find first then second so I got it home which is a 2 min drive and parked it, then a hour later I reversed it off the drive and parked it on my front and the gears were selecting fine just abit low to the floor but much better than when I collected it.

I asked my father in law if he had done anything to resolve it he said he had changed the slave cylinder and master cylinder and that didn't make a difference now at this point I'd already ordered replacements of these myself and they came today so ive changed them over and when I removed the slave cylinder the push rod came out with it so after some digging on here I can see that some guys say its fine to refit without the clip so that's what ive done I made sure it was onto the ball end in the gearbox and then put the slave back in and bled it up. Now I have a nice firm clutch pedal but I cant get any gears and when I try and push the gearstick its grinding asif its already in gear although the stick is in neutral. Ive look3d and noticed the clutch pipe off the master seems to go really high for no reason nearly above the master cylinder res so would it be worth me repiping this lower then rebleeding the system to see if its just air or is there any other advice? Ive got a friend with a pressure bleeder so I could try reverse bleeding with that also if that might help?
