Oddly enough Geordie is like Dorset retain Anglo Saxon where Geordie area was not really invaded by vikings, allowed an accent separately from today modern English.😉
European language rely heavily on book language not influenced by outsiders so very gutteral. Like the French many educated classes were for the rich while peasants used dialects.
Ours changed because the kings Alfred John James Henry wanted the people of the land in local churches to understand the bible.
Hence our American cousins pilgrims were a protestant ethos. You look at the poorer area of Americas majority are Portuguese and Spanish Catholic.
While Monks from Europe Empirical popes taught Latin Greek to the kings and his ilk. While English laws was subjugated to French introduced by Normans the peasants retain Anglo Saxon laws of the lands.
The best thing English did was to take the Protestant ethos from Europe and develop a solid backbone spanning several centuries from Watt Tyler earlier maybe form of Luddites peasants revolt of the Dutch and German. While Catholic yoke was more dominant in Europe, the British was changing.
Thanks, prof.
When is your next lecture? I want to be sure to sign up for the course!!🤣🤣

Gawd it's getting worse around here. A young lad murdered and the police arrested four one woman for aiding and abetting three teenagers in the killing. Last week a man went into my local medical centre brandishing a knife. If anyone wants more information check Manchester Evening News online. I'm couple of hundred yards from this murder incident. I can only offer my sympathy to the dead victim family if local on here.

Morning
Cloudy bright here
Weekend show was wet and hardly any exhibitors, only about four tractors when usually 20+
I overdosed on Guinness in the beer tent Saturday night but great fun was had by all despite it being damp :p
Suns coming out now so taking caravan back to it's field and visiting pie shop for lunch 😊
Stay dry all :)

Lovely day today, got up late and it is SO quiet!

Went to a pottery and ceramics exhibition in Giroussens yessdi. Tis renowned for it and the streets are all full of peeps selling their wares.

We usually buy at least one piece, sometime decorative, sometimes useful. Nice run out too. Got no lunch as the wait would have been 45 mins for two boxes of chips! Nice drink though overlooking the river valley and surrounding panorama.

(Library picture, from our table there wasn't the flipping panorama description in the way!)
The girl said how busy they were and that they'd be busy again the following day. We didn't realise about the hollibobs.
Yet another bank holiday, Pentecost.

We bought two nice morning coffee bowls and two others to put stuff in like olives etc.

W bought a pair of earings with rotating ceramic wheels.

Today i will be fiddling with the Pluriel as, since working on the front bodywork, it now insists the bonnet isn't closed when it is.   Beeps and the message runs across the date and time screen.

i can only just see the electrical wire and some sort of a plug under the catch,

Also have to mend the hen's water -feeder again. They make them out of plastic that cannot take sunlight.:rolleyes:

Have a lovely day folks!:):):)

A dispute over a bicycle locally. Just been for a walk to my local paper shop and stopped for a chat with neighbours who use social media. Local on local confirmation in a papershop. Seriously though my area New Moston is residential has really hit a new low. Local shops that have CCTV connected neighbours around pub canvassed for their CCTV. TAU vans, Reporters and family of the murdered and murderers within earshot eachother. All for a argument over a bicycle. An emoji is worthless and trivial yet teenagers can get upset over it. I await the rest of tragic story to explain itself. A bicycle........

It may just be the sensor switch thingy needs a clean wivs contact cleaner ....

I do not envy you one bit we watch UK news here my hart sinks every day getting to the point to stop watching it to depressing 😩😩

I said to the misses the other night im not watching the news as there's nowt good these days, they go from people in was zones
babies starving then jump over to Ronaldo who gets over 3 million a week.
If you had that amount of money why does no one want to help people.:mad:

In the meantime, after fixing it, sort of, with gaffer tape as the parts of the switch are basically falling apart, it is now OK.
But I have been onto Citroen C3 websites both sides of the channel and it appears it is a bit of a common thing.
When I gently pulled on the back end of it I could see all sorts of bits of it coming out, spring, contacts etc. So it is fairly obvious that the plastic that should have held it all together has given way/bruck off/got lost.
As it is a particularly pointless bit of the electronix stuff, namely to warn you if you have been stoopid enough to start it up without the bonnet properly closed and also, and more to the point, it is part of the alarm system so if anyone has your bonnet up trying to knick it, the alarum goes ooff!!

So as getting another one will be a nightmare I am asking the C3 fora if there is any reason why I can't just "jump" the contacts in the nearest connector to simulate it being "on" to shut the system up.

How the flip did we all manage when there was no electrical system to tell us if we had closed the bonnet properly or not?
I do resent being patronised by a car I am driving! ;)
