Today's gripe.
The alternator spat it's pulley oft again..
How can a right handed nut that secures a pulley that runs clockwise undo itself?!
R U sure you mean that? A right-handed nut would need to be on a pulley that turns anti-clockwise to tighten itself.

This is why peeps who have knock-ons have the nuts that tell you which side to put them on.

There was once a member of a kit car club who put them all on the wrong sides and a few miles down the road all his wheels fell off!

Luckily only his pride was hurt.

Instead of wasting money on a vanity project like HS2 they should have created a national water grid to even out the imbalances across the country and created more reservoirs and storage facilities.
Trubble is doing that is far more complex than doing it with electricity, and as we now know they cannot even do that very well, hence huge windfarms being paid to not generate leccy whenever they can.

Cos it’s on a LR and can if it wants:vb-weyes:.

I can’t be bother to search shaft direction/pulley direction/ shaft Fred and any complicated formula for speed stress and Newtons elbow, right now so.

Just tighten it till your eyeballs pop see how that works:p.

Is a sod is what it is. Ungrateful cow had a new head gasket for Easter (she dunt like choclit).
Had the alternator out and tried refitting the pulley. Sadly it had worn itself oversize in the process and despite my best (inept) efforts won't run concentrically. Why aren't they keyed?
Luckily I have a spare new alternator, new pulley on order anorl, along with some Loctite 720 to help..
Happily the weather is good, so the bike will substitute for the week.

And try washers and lock washers.
RH thread turns CW to tighten, the pulley turns CW so should drag the nut in, should it be able to rotate about the spindle at all. Also had a damn great spring washer underneath the nut.

As for knock ons, how would it be possible to fit them on the wrong side? They can't all be the same hand shirley...

Worrappens if the pully wants to turn fasterer than the nut wants to. Does the nut havva top speed?

The last reservoir in the UK was built in Derbyshire in 1992 yet the population has increased by 11 million in 2022 , I would say that is good planning 😠😠😠
Tis near impossible to build a reservoir int uk. Too much opposition. Water companies have plans to do it but can't. In light ov the media coverage there may be a bit more public support int future.

Yer mean run fast. Thas cos we got powerrrr.
