My D2 V8's floor in the back is hot after driving for a while ( I take it this is the middle box ). My question is is this normal or have I got a problem.

When you say hot how hot? can touch hot or just warm to the touch?

If the rear floor is hot, where is the heat coming from, the only place is the exhaust.
Do u have a problem who knows.

It's not hot that I can't put my hand on it but when the winter comes in the middle rear passenger will have very warm feet.

The V8 and and if it's an auto will give of a lot of heat which will make the floor and also the inside of the vehicle hot. Ok if fitted with A/C, but with out as was my old RRC too hot inside not nice at all in the summer.

You're not wrong there, it gets very warm when crawling along in low range when laning but at least in winter it isn't too much of a problem, makes up for the often poor heating.

Yes it's an auto. I really noticed it today as I was towing an horse box with passenger for quite some distance. Cheers for all the replys.

I just fitted my gearbox (manual) the other day and I went for a test drive with the transmission tunnel open, so I could hear the gearbox properly. I could see it too! :D

Anyway, driving along and the hot air was shooting up through the hole, it made it quite uncomfortable to change gear it was so hot on my arm!

So yes, they do pump a shed load of heat. My transmission tunnel is nearly too hot to touch when crawling (no carpets in)

So yeah it's normal :D

I had all the windows open and couple of fans with windscreen suckers working it helped but noisey, O the good old days :)
