hello just found this site has i have just got a freelander for the wife and kids but I have just found out that the previous owner had a problem with the hdc but instead of sorting it they just painted the amber light black.
i just wondered if anyone can help. when i start the car all lights do
what they should but then when i set off amber light comes on and if i press hdc switch nothing happens no green light.
from a standstill green light will flash then in 1st stay on for about 100yrds
then back to amber is it safe to drive

hi, could be lots of things, try doing a search in the freelander section, as there is lots of info on hdc and lights coming on going off flashing and any other combinations!! or get it plugged in to fault code reader to identify problem.
seems strange the light has been covered up though.
