HELP!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I have asked b4, but put yourself in my position, I have raised the air suspension on rear to allow access to fuel filter, removed elec sensor connector, now sitting at the rear wheel, which way do i turn the filter, towards me(clockwise), or away(anticlockwise). The damn thing wont budge and a tad worried to use the filter removal tool when not knowing which way to turn it.

The centrifugal filter (spinner), is it under the cap that labeled/stamped with "Lever", and is up almost level with exhaust manifold with just two bolts. Is there anything I should worry on changing this, problems inherant to doing this task?

My truck has a spinner, when the fitter changes it he has to clean out the tar deposits, do TD5's need this doing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, me such a numpty, all brawn you see.

The fuel filter turns anti-clockwise, when viewed from underneath, as if on your back looking up at the base of the filter.

Yes that is the location of the centrifugal oil filter, I haven't needed to clean out tar deposits on mine but worth checking.

Looking at the fuel filter from the outside, the side of the filter nearest you goes to the LEFT to unscrew it.
Clean it before taking it off.
Fill the new filter with fuel (not quite brimmed) when you fit it with a new O-ring seal.

There can be no tarry gunge in the centrifugal filter housing.
Lift the cover carefully.
Lift off the spinning can - nothing but gravity holds it on!
Drop the new spinning can onto the spindle.
Fit a new rubber-o-ring seal (why not?)
Bin the old spinning can.

Go for a beer.

Well done. The fuel pump and filter should run more quietly now.
Now poly bag the thing.

First spray the whole Goddam thing with half a can of WD40.
Find a tough poly bag and slip it up over the whole filter, and tie a string round the top to keep it up.
Make sure the bottom of the bag is longer than the filter and OPEN so any water that gets in can fall out.
A couple of loose turns of parcel tape will hold the baggy round the filter. Mine has survived many months now, including some muddy nasty off-roading, and (even worse) three trips to ...... ENGLAND!

In fact on one trip I was damn-nearly in Welsh WALES.

I'm not easily scared ... I like to live dangerously ...
