hi im alyson i live in good old whitby and am hoping to buy my first landie in august but dont have a clue :confused: .do i get a disco or a 90 im on a real small budget,any advice about either would be much appreciated

When you say small budget, how much are you talking about? Hundreds or thousands?

for that sort of money your talking a 300tdi disco about K-M reg or an older defender with some work to do on it,
happy hunting:D and watch out for exessive rust:eek:
 
Not laughing, that's a good budget to start with! If you do your research and know a bit of what yer lookin for and ask Mondo for some good advice, and if poss take him along, you will get a reasonable defender for that with a 200 tdi engine - or you will get a really reasonable disco (but yer better off with a depender - but then i would say that! :D:D)

Don't reckon there's many on here with budgets higher than that to start with, it's all the extras and maintenance etc that take yer munny!
 
i thought the disco mite be a bit more suitable cos of the kids but would prefer the defender.discos are ok off road arent they cos thats what im hoping to do
 
To be fair with kids the disco is probably better, else yer'll have to go for a 110 defender which are ok but big! Discos hold their own off road but are even more prone to rust (that's like saying shipman was a worse serial killer than manson)...(not marilyn)...
 
Yorkshire mudrunners would be better. there's also a few North East Clubs that would be closer to Whitby. There's always langdale for Pay & Play.
 
I'd have ter run behind em. cos my 90 still!!! int ready. But I'm throwing the whole weekend at it this weekend.
