I noticed today on my classic, that when you put the heater fan on full (after the engine is warm) and set to hot it only blows hot for a little while and then gets progersivley colder like it cant provide enough hot water.

Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?:D

what engine is in it ?

Ere Truckie, I needed to ask you summit,

Can't remember for the life of me what it was though

Really how come?, stuck open so engine doesnt get hot enough? it seems to warm up nicley on the guage

I did change the coolant this sumer and have only used the heater a few times since so I guess it could be an airlock, Could it work its way round and cook the motor?

No leaks on hoses.

If you did coolant change in summer did you remember to leave the heater fully hot during drain down and refill? Airlock in itself won't cook motor, but if coolant flow is severely compromised you could get overheating, but you should have already seen that if it was going to be a problem.

Yup heater was fully open when I did the coolant.

I did a 200 mile round trip in the storms today and it didnt miss a beat. I was only brave enought to put the heater on for the last 15 miles or so but again it is fine on the low settings of fan but after a few mins on full blast it runs outa hot!

I was hoping this was common and peeps would know how to fix it:doh:

Maybe , it warms up so well though and never overheats in after hours of idling in the summer with the aircon on or off.
