Coming home tonight, ac on full and for the first time ever I noticed the temp gauge creeping up. Its never gone beyond the central mark before.
Switched ac off, windows open heater on full and by the time I was home (10mins of driving) back to normal. Ran the engine on the drive for 5 mins and stable gauge - ac not on though.
Checked the viscous fan- engine still quite warm and I can turn the fan by hand, definite resistance and I can't spin it. It hasn't got cold yet.
Tried the newspaper test, engine warmed again and no way is a paper going to stop the fan. So all ok?
Now the fans just behind the grill are the ac fans correct? Aren't these supposed to come on when the ac is switched on?
First check the L fan was turning just, second check both still.
So how should they work?
I suspect these ac fans and that all else is ok and that its only in these extreme conditions that a problem has come up.
Anyone got any thoughts?
