could there be another reason why my gears are sometimes tight and i dont ever need to tup up my engine oil i check the level every week and to my amazement its not dropped for ages

what year is it ?, if it has the lt77 gearbox the gears can go stiff when the oil needs changing.

see if these help not much good with only a camera phone im afraid and low rated axle stands i cant use with it

well - pics are a bit shaky - but it looks like wading plugole - i reckon its the front oil seal on ya gearbox has gorn :(.

oil will be gettin repaced on friday will let you know what happens, hopefully that will be the end to it!!!!

If "drain plug" at front of bell housing its wadding plug hole. If oil dripping there then seal is going on gearbox, ergo box out &new seal in. Oil fill on my disco 1 is 13mm square plug just over half way up box on drivers side. for level take plug out and fill tell it drips.(tqf not ep80)

Or if its the wading plug on the bell housing it could be the back seal behind the flywheel of the engine...engine out job
