Hello there, I am new to all this but wondered if anyone can throw some light on this new problem with my wife's TD4, She run out of diesil last week filled it up and all was fine until today, The engine now is starting fine but once driving it feels as if it has no power and is pumping black smoke which is very sooty and fills wet but is not smelling of diesil it also is making a wired nosie when it loses power sounds like a clicking nosie which seems to come from under the rear of the car after the noise stops more smoke comes out . it is then ok and then starts the cycle again. thanks.:confused:
 
You might want to post this question in the Freelander section. you will probably get a better response.
 
Friendly advice? firstly introduce yourself properly in the intro section of this forum. You will leave yourself open to a torrent of abuse otherwise! Secondly, do a search, this topic has been covered at length.
You will find an endless amount of information and willingness to help from the members of this forum if you then still have problems, but do follow the protocol and good manners required. :welcome2:

With all that coughing, spluttering and noxious black emissions I was about to diagnose man flu :eek:. But glad to see yer all right mate.:D
