hi guys, as some of you may know my p38 has blown up, after much deliberation(a weeks holiday on the isle of wight for the half term holidays!) i decided that instead of messing around doing the head gasket i would just fit another engine, long story short i went and brought a 525tds nice and cheap, no problems with the oily bits to change, but have been searching high and low on here for some info about the electrics on the top of the diesel pump that i understand need to be changed if i want to use the bmw pump, any pointers would be much appreciated:confused::confused::confused:

thanks guys, is it a case of just unbolting the electrics on the bmw one and bolting the range rover one on the top? does it only go one way? can't afford to mess this up:eek::eek::eek::eek:

you need to make sure it is fitted the same position as the one you are removing

read some of my old post on the FIP

you could always change the entire pump off the rr engine to the bme engine, i just changed the top, i read a post here sometime back that said if the last 3 digits on the injector pump were 944 or 994 "cant remember which" that pump electrics will fit the rr.

If you change the pump and time it. Don't forget that if the chains have any toothache the valve timing will also be out.
