Cheers Guys, I'll take a look tomorrow. Remember me if you hear about a hypothermic guy found frozen head first in his engine bay.:D:D

Will go through this again. With pump running remove inlet filter, place finger over inlet there should be a vacuum. If not check inlet and exhaust reed valves in compressor cylinder head. Remove exhaust filter place finger over outlet, there should be no air. If there is diaphragm split. Remove blue pipe from compressor outlet, place finger over outlet apply moderate pressure, air should be forced past finger. If not piston seal failed. All the sticking valve ,valve open etc can be deleted and will go away when you have air pressure.

Cheers, for that Wammers. I did get the bit re. exhaust hence my previous comments, so I'm hoping diaphram is good.

Spent a couple of hours on following faults through and ended up at compressor outlet finding not a great deal of output pressure. Dismantling pump, which was supposedly recently rebuilt, revealed that seal was in good condition and probably recently renewed; HOWEVER it had not been reassembled into the bore properly and the seal had folded backwards in places and been torn!

Taking the piston and seal from my old pump (in which the motor was u/s) I reassembled the pump and stuck it back in the car. Pump runs and pressure is better but still not enough I think. Ran pump for 15 minutes with door open and then set height to m/way and closed door....Nothing! Started process from beginning again but after another 15 minutes pump started what can only be described as farting! so shut it down. In order to see how much pressure had accumulated I discharged reciever via software, result.... Nothing, no escaping pressure at all!

Now managed to find another pump on fleabay, new, so will try again when it arrives.

Blimey, you're not having much luck with this!

Have you contacted the seller about it? Did the ad say that the pump had been overhauled? Glad I was outbid now! :)

There are a couple of pumps on there that have apparently been refurbished, but I assume you've already seen them.

The new one I've got was off fleabay too, chappie bought it from Paddocks but never used it, and it was under a 100 quid.

Although it was a real pain in the arse, what I paid for the other one I reckon was still reasonable value, cause I've still got a usable valve block out of it and I can always rebuild the pump with a fresh seal, and keep em as spares.

I'd offer you the pump Kooky once it's rebuilt but even if the pump end is ok there's no telling how much life is left in the motor, and I hate doing business with mates cause if it goes wrong it goes very wrong!

No worries - I'm after a complete eas box really so that I can do exactly what you were aiming to do. My problem's in the o rings in the valve block itself I reckon (rear n/s corner drops), although it's behaving itself better now the weather has got cold!

NO NO !!! Do not use any oil-based products in your Air system!!!!

This might do the trick for 1 week, but when the oil gets in the EAS Pump, your Teflon seal will stop working pretty quickly. No matter how new / good that is!!!

Oil and Teflon is NOT A GOOD COMBINATION !!!! The EAS Air System must be a dry system!!! Nu lubrication at all

Regards from the Netherlands

I think we may have cleared up this bad idea on page one of this thread.......;)

Cheers for your help everyone. New pump arrived this morning, fitted it and b**ch still won't get up off her knees! Gonna have to dive underneath once slush has gone and check to the rest of the pipe work and airbags.

Normal service is resumed!:D:5bdriving: Spent an hour this morning removing and reinstalling the EAS valve block and pump, gave it a run for 15 minutes to charge up the air supply and whoosh up she went, just like she should.:)

Huge sighs of relief could probably be heard for miles. Nearly two weeks of pratting around and then seemingly just sorted itself for no apparant reason:confused2::mad: I can only guess something didn't seat right last time, but then bubble testing gave no indication of a leak.

Now I've pumped her up to high and took wheel arch measurements, and I'm gonna let her sit now :pop2::tea:and see if there's any settling over a few hours, to make sure there aren't any air bag/line leaks.:suspicious:

Cheers to everyone for their help and suggestions over the last couple of weeks.:5bhurray:

i know how you feel regarding the eas problem,my prob was not far of yours.i thought the sod would never get of it's arse ever again.she did eventually but it worries you half to death till it's sorted doesn't it.:D:D
