hi there,

colud anyone help., i have just tried to switch the ignition off on my td5 and no joy.however i put my foot on the break and hay presto the engine switched off. but now i have the ignition lights staying on and the keys have been removed from the igniniton. strange but true, any ideas.

Bad earth ... check earth straps from battery to body, engine to body and chassis ... adding more is not a problem!

Also (sounds daft but bear with me) check the routing of the handbrake cable and the end fittings. When the normal earths corrode the handbrake cable often shorts out, gets warm and causes all sorts of 'odd' little electrical niggles ...
