afternoon all not too much of an update yet but i can confirm the window motors work on the rear with my little battery pack, thanks to some great links and advice on here i have a list of pins to check for power on the lift module. (my next job today after coffee lol)
i'll report back in a bit with any joy or lack there of

After noon ceffyn hope your well ?
The switches near your gear stick, 1 is a insulate'r (the small 1 in the middle) take it out & bridge the wires in the plug, that way you know that you should be getting power to the rear windows !!
On words & up words ! LOL They don't like it up em !:eek:

Steve

ok newest update got in and had a good check of the switch's and center console its all good but after checking pins from something else i have seen on here im getting low voltage through one of the pins from the lift unit and i've already done the soldering and even redone it today to be sure so new lift unit it is :( also checked out the front window and driver door lock but thats two whole new storys lol

i dont have any spare's just the ability to work with wires and solder lol anyway end result on that is i need to get a new/working lift unit.

as for the door lock same disco story spring change time, got the spring done got it all back in place and happy tried the handles and hay presto looking good got it back together and realized one of the linkage bars is off lol. now the card has to come back off (this time of night) because it wont stay locked and the barrel dont seem to be connected, no prize for working out the missing linkage haha

Sorry ceffyn
It's towsey thats got a spare unit ! why not get it touch & see if he will part with it ?
Steve

Was going to say DO NOT spend money on new/second hand central locking units ! they are so easy to fix !
All you need to do is look on flee bay for 12v motors, 2 for about £ 1.50 free post from china , can't turn them down at that price !
Better than £15/20 for second hand 1's . If yours ever go let me know & I will do a step /step picy show on how to do & fix ! Or if I get rely good on this computa thing I will try a video:eek::confused::rolleyes:o_O

Steve

ok so it turns out i may have killed the barrel somehow got it locking so thats good enough for tonight haha, if you need hand with anything computer related then im your man haha thats something i have no issues with :D

Don't worry young man SOMBO sorts most of the computa stuff when I get stuck !
Her words not mine, Quote / you been on that bloody computa all day ? Quote / guna get some land rover badges for my car your alus buggering about with your truck !(me/:eek::eek::eek::oops::oops::oops::oops: yes dear I love you)
LOL

Magicgrotto, how's ya passion for bacon doing

Ceffyn, have you found your window problem yet. To be honest since I re-soldered my module all seems to be well

Towsey

Nowt mate ! I would have replied sooner if I weren't going out !LOL
Towsey do you still have that spare unit for your windows ? If so ceffyn's having trouble with his & I suggested that he gets in touch with you to see if you would part with it ?? don't know if he has ??
Other than that all I have to report on the Disco front is that I've got all the welding done on the near side chassis rail ( that was a pain in the arse) the bit above the chassis were the large round tube meets the chassis was crakerd & working between wheel arch & floor is a bit tight :mad: But I got it done ! so all I have to do now is get the black bitch out & paint it ! some time this week ! The only other news is that I set Dads punto on fire while doing a small weld job in wheel arch:eek::eek:! Not on the outside but on the inside:mad::mad::mad: had to rip the inside out & squirt some water in ! Bloody thing had bitch inside wheel arch:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr may have starved it's self had we not opened the bloody doors LOL
So wot you been up to ??

Steve

ok update time im currently taking apart and cleaning all the switched because the driver one was acting up cleaned it and now its awesome, when im done with them i'll be back to trying the rear windows again i think its the unit im going to remove the old solder all together on the joints that were bad and replace it with new and take it from there. trying to avoid replacing the unit due to a lack of funds at the moment :(

lol all switches cleaned and i uploaded a guide with pics but still aint got round to changing the solder on the lift unit, bit of luck i'll get some spare time tomorrow. why do schools have to give the kids so many days off haha..

I do have a spare module but it's not been re-soldered because the one I did re-solder is the original one and so far it has been fine and given me no reason to take it back out again.
