hi wammers can you tell me where the pressure switch is located and how to remove and where i can get one ????? from cheers mozz :(

Pressure switch is under valve block towards front end. Use a little sealant on threads when replacing. You will need to look at RAVE for instructions how to remove pins from plug. Island stock them as do other dealers.

By now all the faulty ones should be gone.If you have a recurring 'Pressure constantly high' fault from the EAS ECU then you most likely will need a new drive pack - ANR3900,not a new pressure switch.

You have said this before and maybe a faulty driver pack can effect the ECU. But the driver pack has nothing to do with pressure switch or running of compressor.

It is a bit of a mystery. The only connection is the +12V supply to the pressure switch is also fed to the valve block driver board.Prehaps a fault on this board causes some disturbance on the supply line and affects the operation of the pressure switch. In my electronics career I have seen some odd malfunctions.:5bcheers2:

Look - I'm not saying this for no reason, several years ago I had P38's with EAS faults all over the place. The last straw was an irate phone call from Spain,a customer there on holiday,EAS in hard fault, big caravan etc, etc.
I had driven that car for several days on test, whilst monitoring the,(New) pressure switch. It worked faultlessly, the wiring was checked and found good.I had no choice but to replace the ECU.Two weeks later I get the angry call from Spain.
In utter frustration I asked LR dealer tech support, the chap I spoke to had no further suggestions after I explained what I had done.He bounced the issue around to the others in the office, one of them said,"Seen that before - replace the drive pack."
He couldnt remember what caused the ecu to log this when the drive pack failed, and I never bothered to try to work it out.(This was right in the middle of sequential LPG systems coming out and I was busy trying to find ways to tune them successfully.)
All I can say is that it works and was a huge relief,as at that time I was where the buck stopped for about 60 garages diagnostics wise - no pressure then......

I am not saying it is not possible. A faulty driver pack may cause the ECU to have a fit. But the driver pack plays no part in the running of the compressor or the pressure switch. Maybe you're right, but it is like saying change the stop lamp bulbs and the headlamps will work. :):):)

hi wammers , i dont agree with him at all your right when you say about the bulbs same goes for any part ?? am off to doctors with roadtest at same time will let u know what the pump does in 1 hour ,cheers wammers MOZZ

Don't knock what he says Mozz circuits can and do interact. But don't think it will have anything to do with your problem.

hi wammy back from doctors ? he thinks ive got gout ???????????? cant be right thats a fkin rich mans disease innit ,anyway re eas pump it was on and off for about 10 mins then it seems to have settled down now .on way back it only came on once . car is all square and sits about 47 " from top of wheelarch to centre of hub which is normal i think and drive is tops on suspension with the orange light on m-way bar as normal , so will monitor it for next few days and will let u know if anything changes may book it in for complete air leak test and see what shows up ?????? cheers for your advice MOZZ

He's turning into a Conservative voter. First he gets gout, next he refuses to use Metric :D

Its quite simple,I really dont give a toss if you believe what I'm saying or not.Garages and individual customers pay me to fix cars, and they keep coming back.Word soon gets around if you fail, and I do no advertising - at all.If you chose to disagree thats fine,I couldnt care less. The point you seem to miss is that it has fixed multiple cars for me and for other LR indies who have followed my advice. The pressure switches rarely give trouble - but the word NEVER is not often used in the diagnostic world,so a pressure switch could be stuck closed. But you would assume then that the compressor would never run...
I simply didnt have the time or mental will to sit down and work out how a drive pack could cause a constantly high signal, there was too much else going on at the time - and now I'm more involved in later cars as many P38's are being scrapped.Hence I see less of them, plus D3's and FL2's bring a whole new set of their own problems to solve.
Why dont you work out what the link is and take the credit for it ?

ha ha ha yes your both right i meant metric 470 , as far as the politics go as for being a young pensioner i abstain from voting any of them they are all lying thieving (expenses ) bstrds i wouldn't give them the time of day ,but i think thats another new thread ,as long as theres a bacardi party well their the only one that gets my vote or possibly a northern soul branch of the socialist party ???????????????? thanks for all your imput to everyone who contributed ,cheers MOZZ

hey wammy youv'e set him off again ??????????????????? cmon eightinavee it could ave been worse he could ave meant it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ho ho ho
