If they bring this in it will affect sensible people who need to travel at night etc. It shouldnt just be for younger drivers, but everyone who passes. Some people need to travel to work on shifts, or work long hours. If they cant do that it could leavt them out of work. I will admit I am no angel. But my licence has been important to me since i passed at 17 in 2002. Im 27 now no points 1 non fault accident, 2 parking tickets and £50 fine for driving in a bus lane. I do go too fast at times, but no licence no chance of getting new lov. My dad is 52, been driving since 1984 has 6 points. Was 9 but 3 have come off. All for speeding in last 5 years.

In the last year I have not attended a single RTC involving a younger person, say younger than 25. Most have been in the 40+ bracket (ok big bracket but relevant) and more often than not the person at fault has been drinking.

My pet hate as a trained driver are the 40+'s who are so used to driving and thinking that they are good at it but make lots and lots of mistakes all the time:

Take some time to look at the driver who is sitting in the middle or outside lane of a multi-lane road, take time to look at the driver doing 40 in a 30 - I bet the majority of them are 40+.

There is a massive risk with young drivers travelling faster than they can control - the problem with "BRAKE" IMO is that they take the lowest standard of driving (normally their members!) and try to create rules so everyone becomes a poorer standard rather than encouraging training to improve standards. Young drivers have better reactions, they tend not to drink and drive (generally compared to older people), their reaction to observations are better but they take greater speed related risks.

What a load of ill informed vague and unsubstantiated pish. I'm over 40..its the young drivers..i'm under 40 its the older, ****ed up drivers.

Please can someone, anyone, back any of their arguments up with figures??

Otherwise your worthless drivel isn't worth a piece of snot.

I can assure you that when I am cutting someone out of their car because they crashed or worse hit someone else I don't find it a lot of pish or ill informed snot - I'd much rather not be there at all. When they stink of booze it is something one notices.

tiz coz we is human - I am perfect - its everyone elses fault!

lets all admit that we make mistakes - its no big deal. The art is trying to learn from them.

Really, you're a 4kin hero...but a hero that makes massive generalisations. I saw a woman hit the kerb today..this does not mean all women or only women hit the kerb. (well, possibly)...come back with some data gathered over a longer period thats quantifiable and tested.

My dick is probably smaller than your's - and I can back it up - it's only 3¼" long. NO I'm not putting up photo's

I have measured the snot I produced in my hanky and it weighs 1¾gms!

So there! :D:D:D:D

As a generalisation - It is mainly humans that crash cars!

What a sperm tablet, fnckwitted thing to say - it's vehicles that crash and I can back this up with figures!

Every single accident I have seen on the road has involved a vehicle of some description and lots off-road too..:D:D:D:D:D

Was it Ediie Izzard that said 'Guns dont kill people, it's people with guns that kill people.'

That was the days most irrelevant post. Time to eat. Finding lots of ways to avoid doing anything to the 90.

Storm - finished for today :D

Clanforbes - NO! - its vehicles that crash, but humans that crash them :p.

I know, I just wanted to call someone, AnYONE a sperm tablet fnckwit. I think ****wit sound soooo cool

No offence meant of course MHM - though I'm sure you would have known that.:brushteeth::lvgay-lovers-148: :love:

im all for making people spend a year on a 50cc scooter before they can go for their car test.

firmly believe that my years on a push bike before driving makes me a more observant(note not better) driver - you have to be on a push bike in the city or you die ... simple

everyone i know whos gone for their motor bike test post car has said its made them more aware of whats going on around them and they drive their car better for it.

I also think it is a good solution for folk who get loads of points on licence (but not for drink driving which should be a minimum of a prison sentence) to get put back on the scooter for a year - would stop the whole "i need my car for my job" thing and ridinga scooters like a fat chick ;)

i had a mate whos a car mecahnic - wrote of 5 cars in a month - one of them was a customers , 2 of them works vans , 2 of his own cars and i towed him out of a ditch in that month also - he is no longer a car mechanic .. i got a lift from him once about 20 miles or so - i chose to get the bus home. Lucky he has bought a slow old slitty - its probably saved his life - he was going to kill him self.
