hi i have my mot rapidly approching as was wondering , would it fail the mot if the door spring is badly warn ie does not open correctly from outside this only applies to the passenger side door all the rest seem to work fine
thanks all for help

There's a guy on ebay who does a full set of replacement door springs for a couple of quid. I'll post the link tomorrow He also does a replacement belt tensioner bearing to cure the squeeling. He does a few other bits & peices As well

No these are tiny little V shaped springs that fit inside the doorlocks

I've had my disco 2 1/2 years, when I bought it it had a dodgy door spring. You have to hold the button up and then open the door. I haven't bothered fixing it yet, but think I will be doing it soon. Anyway i've had 2 mot's and passed fine with the dodgy spring, didn't even get it on the advisory's.

I've had to replace the boot door spring, bought the spring off this bloke on ebay. It was great, would of had to buy the whole mechanism at around £90, or a few quid for a new spring, great blumin savin.

thanks redhand certainly a cheaper way rather than a whole new lock system have ordered a set
many thanks

Ours failed too, how well does JAc know his mot'er?

However, the guy just fiddled with the arm and lock system position abit, and it seems to have temporarly fixed it
