Apologies for asking, I’m sure it’ll be already deep in the archives, and asked a hundred times.

Will a discovery 2 transfer box fit on my 300tdi Defender? There’s one close by and at a reasonable price. If it’s too much of a nause, I’ll get a disco1 t box.

You can fit disco2 or disco1 transfer box on defender but you will lose your diff lock with dosco2

some disco 2 boxes do have difflock but none have an option to fit a speedo drive, unless you change rear output housing then that can mean reshimming the center diff beatrrings

Just looked, it has a diff lock, but shimming? That’s way above my pay scale. I’ll wait for a disco 1
