Ok, this ia a problem my friends dad is having with his disco its a 92 on a J.

The rear door (boot) lock have become inverted on the central locking. ie, it is always the oppisite or the other locks. When the cars locked it isnt, and when the cars unlocked it is.

No, he hasnt been fiddeling, he really isnt the type, and it just started to happen. if you just push the button down to match the rest of the car it still doesnt follow, it just misses a go the starts out of sync again.

Ive tried setting all the locks in the same position and ditching the battery for an hour but that didnt fix it. i just dont understand how the pulses have become inverted on just the one lock.

Any ideas?

oh, and no remote, its keys all the way.

my passenger door can do this from time to time so am looking into it myself mate, any discoverys "no pun intended" ill let yer know bud.

Had a go at mine today as it had similar problem on rear door. Plus, I found that locking with the key, if you tried the door handle it was locked but a second attempt unlocked the door, allowing access. Tried various things and in the end put a light spring between solenoid mechanism to hold the solenoid down. This has the effect of not allowing the door to be unlocked with solenoid operating and requires the key to unlock the door. At least its safe now. Worth checking if anyone else has similar probs as two attempts will/could open the door! Temp measure and could be one of those temps that remain permanent:)

have you check all connections ma C/L wur playing up in a similar way, it was me boot doing it, and it was a slack connection at the control box

Hi Slob, how ya doing? Been busy as hell this end but not complaining! The soleniod kicks in ok when operating the central locking both on lock and unlock process. There must be a worn pawl in there somewhere that doesn't hold the mechanism in the correct orientation. Didn't have time to strip it all out but posted mainly to warn others that the door may not be secure.

i had lots of different probs, back doors not opening one time then one locking while the rest shut. the boot locking when the doors opened, etc etc and it was the control box plug that was loose
