is it like a buzzing if so top of pump lack of fuel
Nozzle shaped lamp is the Mil check lamp on the diesel, believe an engine shaped lamp was used on later cars though. Could be advance solenoid modulating could be Elab (shut off valve) dropping in and out. You really do need diagnostics on this.

When I do a filter change I don't bother to prime it i just turn it over for a bit Consecutively after I stop and before its running the top of the pump is buzzing after each small turnover if you turn ignition on and off it goes this happens untill fuel is has filled the injector pump .
When you remove the filter you don't drain the pump. You should always fill the new filter with fuel, what is the point in introducing air to the system? Noise will be quantity servo buzzing and yes lack of fuel in pump top will cause it to be more audible. So you don't fill filter, don't prime system and pump fuel through by cranking. That cannot be done on many P38 diesels so a bit of bad advice really.

Wasn't advice just what I do and the Consequences yes there is fuel in the pump but once I start cranking I guess it emptys faster than the filter fills

Yeah but it's not about your car it's about someone following your advice and trying that with a pre 99 car and flattening his battery trying to get fuel through. Because his car does not run the fuel pump whilst being cranked.

Elektrisches Abstellventil. Wonder if he has had the banjo slack and checked for fuel flow there?

I'm sure the smell of diesel And the wet patch followed by a pool of diesel would of indicated that .i think this bypass don't help one bit either plus no diesel heater it all a bit of a bodge really

Correct, but if the system is full, most will start even with a duff pump.
Where exactly is the buzzing coming from? Left or right of engine bay when you stand in front looking at it?
I'm wondering about the fuse box, many problems originate there, bad connections/duff relay causing shut of valve to buzz but not open for example.
As long as your bypass is airtight it will cause no problem. The fuel heater probably doesn't even come on unless the air temp is below zero and many cars do not have them.

That's unless he's tank is full of crud and causes a blockage in the fip, I always wonderd what a fuel filter was for

The op has said there is no fuel comming out of the fip you don't know how long this bodge has been in place is not a test it just conked out wont start no fuel comming out of the fip who says its not blocked

It just does not get to the injectors. Loss of sync.

or been playing with FIP and didn't mark off where the middle plate should be

Possible but he does not say. If pump top is in wrong place holding control collar open it will never start.

What are you on about the banjo is the pipe that bolts onto the fip he has fuel to the fip but not after he has now said there is a buzzing if it was out of sync there would be no power to it and it would not buzz would it as I said now the fuel is not passing through a filter it could have a block in the fip read again!Post #1 he say's he has fuel coming out of the banjo at the FIP
