I have just bought a DHSE (when they were just a special edition) on a 99s with green piped lightstone, 125k , hurricanes, electric everything and sunroof. It has a good service history and has had a few things like new compressor, EAS valves, airbags etc replaced and all seems ok. Just having a couple of problems that I hope you can shed some light on for me.

1/ Hevac issue I have outlined on another thread

2/ Can you let me know how I can get the heated seats to work, the switches light up but nothing happens on either seat - could it be a fuse? Ideas...........

3/ How do I remove the interior pillar covers and either cover them or change them, they are worn and have scrapes etc

Thats it really, otherwise I am over the moon with it. Having it valetted tomorrow and cannot wait to see it 100%!

Can anyone tell me what sort of figues and average chip will give to this and should I worry that the engine has done 120k + when chipping. Do they really change the whole characteristics of the car?

I turned on the engine earlier to warm the car up before I put my daughter in it, when I came out and loaded up the car, I noticed that there were marks on the floor under the exhausts, almost like water spit marks - it was from cold so could be something to do with that. Is it anything I should be worried about?

Either replace the seat bases with new units (about £400 each!), or take them apart (not an easy job at all) and repair the heating element. It is very common for them to fail.

i i`m in the club as well but there`s no chance me getting cold bum as mine`s of the road were it`s been for over a month now

I have the same model as you, think its called DSE Plus? Has a pin stripe down the side and no model indenification on boot? I have had 2 with power conversions and 1 without and the difference is very noticeable. The 1st 1 i had a Jeremy Fearns power upgrade which meant it was chipped and was fitted with a larger intercooler giving it around 190bhp and on a good run would return 40+mpg. This is a costly option at around £2000 and was already done when i bought the vehicle. The second vehicle was not upgraded at all and was noticeably slower and returning 19mpg. The 1 i am currently running has a Superchip fitted giving around 160bhp and 24ish mpg i believe this option is in the region of £400 fitted.
I would definately recommend a power upgrade but if you go for the £2k option you are going to have to buy a lot of diesel to recoup the extra £1600! Still you pays your money and takes your choice.

Thanks for this BUT I AM IN TROUBLE...HOPEFULLY NOT BIG TIME!!!

Today, my Birthday, I fitted a PSI Powerbox that was sold to me by Tim Fry in Cheltenham. I undid the connectors, even the tricky one under the manifold and tucked the box away by the side of the EAS box. I put everything back together then went for a drive, from the off it went so much better. It was smooth and with a crisp delivery. I was impressed. Then i pulled away quickly and when it got to about 3500 revs I heard like a burst of air......pppppppppppsssssssssst then I backed off and it stopped. Thought oh pants. but it contined to run fine, tried it again, nothing, then again, nothing, then again and another burst of air. Thought it might be a loose or split air pipe from the turbo, now it is obviously running more pressure it is showing. I was going to get it checked out asap. THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY THE PROBLEM, unless anyone has any ideas that can help me.

MY ISSUE is that when I stopped, the display beeped and EAS PROBLEM OR FALIURE came up on the display, the UP arrow and car on dash lit up and the 4 setting lights flashed on the EAS control unit.....I had just backed it up to make way for my neighbours car.

Wondering if the two things are linked, it is dark now but I am wondering if I have knocked something from the EAS box whilst fitting the PSI - to get to the 8 pin connector I had to push my hand under the manifold where a lot of pipes etc are. What else could it be??!

Really worried.

Right, thank God its my birthday.........Just gone back out and the suspension has sorted itself out, hopefully it was just a spaz in the system and it seems fine now, going up and down fine. PHEW!!!

Now, the PSSSST at top revs, I have realised it happens only occassionally at 4500k rpm. I am putting this down to a split or loose air pipe from the turbo due to the increased psi going through it thanks to the PSI Powerbox. I am putting the car in for an inspection service (as it was fully serviced 2k ago by previous owner) so they can give it the once over for me and will get them to sort the pipe out then. Unless someone can tell me something else could be gone, I will assume it is that and get it sorted.

Hopefully not too much ££££££!
