I have a 6 cylinder '94 cherokee with 87k miles that is leaking coolant
intermittently. I'm guessing this is the water pump because the hoses
look fine and the front of the oil pan is wet along with a green puddle
underneath. Is this a difficult job or should I take it in? It looks
pretty congested in there and I not sure I want to tackle it. Any opinions?

if this is the 4.0L straight six, then the water pump is an easy job.
remove the fan shroud and the fan to give you more room to work. you
should remove the thermostat housing and replace the t-stat while you're
in there. the t-stat gasket is also notorious for leaking as well.

i own a 93 wrangler 4.0, and the water pump leaked, then i had to do the
t-stat gasket, and tomorrow i have to put in a new radiator (leaking
from the top tank on the right.)
