Cheers SF. I usually just disconnect the negative, but never welded anything with as much electronics as a D2. Will have to just give it a go and cross my fingers. I might take the engine ECU out as an extra precaution.I've seen two cases when the BCU failed after welding but then the owners didnt disconnect the battery so maybe with battery disconnected it might not be a problem

I’ll get the offside done tomorrow. Got rid of of the towing eyes. Bloody pointless.
Cheers James. Cut all the worst of the rust out. When you get into the guts of the chassis, you see why they rot. It’s got multiple layers and rust forms between them. Really bad design.youve not done a bad job there

good luckExtensive welding done on both rear chassis legs. As said, disconnected battery negative lead only and removed the engine ecu. All back together now and everything's working fine. MOT next Friday, the 13th.
