If its a petrol which iam guessing it is being a v8 it won't pass mot! If it's a derv should be ok, depends on the tester, as they only have smoke test
If its after 1990 and came from the factory with a cat, new regs state it must have one, according to my mot man
I said it wouldnt pass an mot, So are you saying that any passenger vehicle made before 2002 don't have to have a cat?
Basic Emissions Test (BET) Vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1992 not a ful cat test according to the manual.
Under the latest regs, which I think apply to all cars irrespective of age, have to have any factory fitted anti-pollution equipment such as cats and EGR Valves, in place don't they?
All petrol vehicles first used after 1st aug 1992 will need a cat, its not a case of the cat is self must be there but inorder to get the emissions down low enough you will need to use a cat. If you could get emissions below the thresehold without a cat then there would be no reason to fail it but there is no way to get the emissions down that low im afriad so a cat is going to be needed...
