Realisticly though would welding a steel cable onto it with the other end welded to the chassis help

Some parts of this thread read like the script to a 70s sitcom.

It will be ok then for certain eating establishment to have freezers full of doggies then? That is the reality of the situation, it's not a sitcom. :D:D

It would have to have a flexible link as there is quite a bit of movement between exhaust and vehicle body.

Have a nice carpet under car for Cat thieves to lay on. Liberally damp down with water. Attache 100 amp 250 volt cable to tailpipe and throw switch. In the morning switch off and remove cable. Sweep thief into gutter with stiff brush.

Not just RR owners who have to worry though. A woman who lives in the house across from our office rarely uses her car (maybe once a month), it's only a Laguna and when I rolled up to work t'other week I noticed her cat had been cut out with what looked like a huge pair of scissors because they'd crushed the xorst either side where the cat was.

Although the current trending crime round here is drilling fuel tanks. As you can imagine they are targeting large vehicles because they hold more. That'd really **** me off because a full tank of fuel costs just as much as a new tank. :(
