Drove into the butchers car park yesterday and braked very nearly joined them in the shop!
Defender 110 td5. Brakes hard on pedal very little play about an inch it had a master cylinder last yr,new discs, pads this year and the calipers were rebuilt.fluids all good.
It does stop eventually but wouldn't want to drive anywhere.
Could it be the servo? Because it feels like trying to brake with the ignition off?
Any help appreciated

could be a lack of servo.

Test the servo. Push on brake pedal and start the engine the servo should assist the pedal and you should feel it being aided down slowly.

could be a simple one way valve perferated hose or a knackared servo unit.
