Hey all!

This is a mini-post in relation to: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/unable-to-bleed-brakes.398398/ : But I believe it would serve better for future looking if this was on it's own.

I am looking to get some custom Brake lines for the Freelander but I was wondering if anyone knows or can find out the size of the brake lines? (As in the Attachment / Thread) Google seems to suggest it is M10x1.00 but I cannot be sure as I don't have the tools to test so I was hoping someone here knew?

Thank you!

On my 2002 onwards they are M10 x 1.0 except 2 larger ones on the ABS which are M12.

Search my thread as there are double and single flares which require SAE and DIN flare tools and you MUST use the correct nut. A double flare requires a countersunk nut or it will leak or break.

I'll look for the thread. It is quite comprehensive but for later vehicles than yours.

That is exactly what I was looking for! Hiw couldn't I find this

None the less as mine is less ABS i should imagine they'll all be m10x1 they all seem to be the same size.

Follow up though, I'm looking for custom SS braided lines, I assume they will still need the same flare ends or do they fit/work slightly differently?

No idea ! Depends who makes them and what you ask for I guess.

Safest is to contact a supplier and either buy some or ask them for the threads. Maybe you can specify threads and keep them the same as the rest ofnthe vehicle ??
Yeah, definitely my plan, it seems that the one I have found does 3 sets of flares, SAE, DIN and DUAL which is apparently a flare that can work with both almost "universally" I will be sure to ask them about it and report back. Will also update my other thread when the new lines come, just a little teaser for now:p (Still not sure if Blue or Purple would be better)
