Does anyone know the how much brake fluid a year 2000 td4 takes. I'm bleeding the whole system. And also what's the best fluid to buy

Just did mine with halfords Dot4, 5 litre tub.
Attached my Ezebleed kit to resevoir and front wheel and just bled about 0.5litres from each wheel.
Starting on Front wheels, and then the back - manual states proper bleed order if you want to get over excited about its order :O)
Now have 3litres of spare DOT 4 for my other parts if they leak or if I need to change another brake line/pipe in the future.

Not sure if 0.5litre per wheel will refresh your whole system but it seemed enough to me!

I used Comma, bought a 1L bottle and two 500ml bottles so I wasn't left with a half used one which will then sit on the shelf for a couple of years and be usless. I did start off with the remains of a 1L bottle I had opened to use on the 90 recently so I used that first then the new 1L.

Nice easy job but as already stated the sequence is different to what I had always done (furthest away from the master first) but as usual with the Ezibleed it was quick & simple.

defo buy yourself an eezibleed, makes these jobs a piece of **** to do on your own.

oh right, i thought you could remove the nipple on the cylinders (one at a time) and pump the brake pedal and keep topping up?

you can just use a peice of pipe off the bleed nipple int a bottle with fluid in the bottom undo the nipple and pump away the fluid in the bottom prevent air gettin sucked up;)

cool. i found some genuine land rover brake fluid about £4 a bottle of 500 ml, spose it aint worth it if i can just buy a big bottle from the shop

So long as it's dot4 the make doesn't matter, I got some last week £5.99 for a 1litre bottle.

p.s a few days before you start id soak each bleed nipple in WD40 (try not to get it on your pads) . so this to ease the pain of a seized nipple ;0)
