yep it does but as you say the bellhousing is longer too, so input shafts stick out the bellhousings the same amounts

ffs Gratch - thats the whole point - the bellhousing has to be the same as the gearbox.

no use the defender bellhousing and the 'spacer' thing from between the engine and the bellhousing which covers the flywheel/clutch from the old defender engine then he won't need to drill/ tap new holes

then when power is applied it strips the input shaft at about 20mph and **** goes the gbox.

classic mistake.the lt77 box is renowned for this and the input shafts are ****e.I have stripped a couple now with 200tdis on...

duss that mean that everytime i guss over 20mph mines gonna go bang then cus i dun it wrong ?and i shunt be tootlin about the roads any faster than stated 20 mph?

seen it twice on mine and others have done it too.get a later box lt77s.its better suited,.

Ok we seem to be missing some info here. The engine that came out of my 90 was a 2.5 td, I'm putting a disco 200tdi in. I'm leaving the original defender 90 box in Along with the original 90 bell housing albeit with a few extra holes. Final question..." will it work"?
