to answer your original question

yes, range rovers are renowned for unreliability - its a landrover for god's sake!

the newer models are not as bad as the old p 38's - do a search down in the range rover section

& welcome to the forum (even if you are a merkin )

got nothin against merkins - my cousin's married to one ( 'e used to work in Fort Worth, Texas ) and she's one of the nicest people I've ever met & a great cook aswell
