Trying to park at work and the car struggled to reverse

Found a puddle of ATF under the airbox.

What has most like happened?

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Just need to work out how to fix it, I do not have the tools nor clothes here. Will almost certainly have to call a garage.

Got airbox out

The rubber pipe carrying gearbox oil has burst

No idea how I am going to fix it at work

Geting the mechanic who is going to swap it to order the part UBP101601 special order as well.

Will be a few days unfortunately.

Darren's D1 based Dakar is off the road as well, and we are looking at the sky.

Would be funny if both off roader owning workers could not get to work!

Well the pipe will have to be removed, so why not take it to a local hydraulic firm and ask them to replace the rubber pipe, but if your going to do it your self follow this link. http://www.discovery2.co.uk/Oil_cooler_pipes.html
Dexron lll is the up to date spec for Dexron ll, any brand will do and there's no such thing as Dextron.

To be honest this may not be cheapest but I am not in any recovery organisation at the moment.

As to pipe not able to remove until Saturday if I could get car home. And the local hydraulic place, not sure if they would, they will make up replacement ACE pipes but not anything requiring machining.

Main issue is getting to these places, I would need to fix my bicycle then pedal 2-3 miles each way to the hydraulic place. Would take up a day or so, so best option for me unfortunately is to cough up.

It burst about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile from work, we found the slicks.

Darren's passenger door on his BMW is sticking soon be 3 cars down between us!

Can you wrap the hose perforation with a piece of rubber insertion and put a worm drive hose clamp around it, replace the lost tranny oil and drive the beast home, not a permanent solution but I have used this method to "fudge" a fix of a burst hydraulic steering hose on my mates Caterpillar front end loader to get it back to his workshop, unless the hose has a really big split this method will stem the flow.

Mainly lack of tools, and time of year.

I work on the countryside and live in suburbs, the nearest ATF seller is quite a way from either.

About 15mm to 20mm split lengthways

The garage who have ordered the parts are about 3/4 of a mile from work, and their hourly rate is not too high.

It is a case too busy for time off, tools are at home, just a bit stuck, however very lucky it burst so near work.
