Hi all, as my Hippo is the first car I've owned which actually has working air con I'm wondering about the amount of condensation (at least I hope it's condensation) I'm seeing dripping from underneath the car either when the air con is on or just after it's turned off, I assume the amount can vary dependant on weather conditions but yesterday after having the aircon on for about an hour on pulling up at home I got out to check underneath and there was quite a lot of liquid dripping roughly from beneath the area where the system gets refilled, would this be where the condensation is drained from or do you think there may be a problem?, I did check the engine coolant level as a precaution and that's fine and the air con does feel quite cold when on (only been refilled and serviced a week and a half)

Near the bulkhead on the battery side theres a rubber drain tube - mine dumps loads of water sometimes... its normal as far as I know :)

All cars with air con need to leak the water taken out of the air somewhere. That is always underneath the car. Proves that it is working.

Works really well in damp weather as it stops the windows from steaming up.

The more you use the aircon through the winter (For demisting) the better as it helps to prevent the seals drying out and allowing the refrigerant to leak out .
Biggest single cause of aircon leaks on cars is seals drying out over winter .

And yes IF youve had it set on uber cold on a high humidity day then it'll produce a heap of condensate .

Oh that's a relief then, cheers guys, I knew that the car would dump the condense but I was a bit perturbed by the amount that was dripping out but you've put my mind at rest, the mobile guy who came round to sort out the air con said to use it for half an hour a day for the first two weeks and then at least once a week after that all year round.
