Hi all

Just took delivery of some chrome running boards from 4x4 direct.

The fitting instructions are less than useless to be fair.

I have had a look underneath the vehicle but I cant see any apparent anchor points - can some one please advise, or point me in the direction of installation guide?

TIA
Rich

Phew - done it - took a couple of hours. Very fiddly job - but they look very good. Very pleased with the result.

Ok here is my fitting guide:

This applies to the chrome bars with black footplates from 4x4 direct.

I firstly put the vehicle in off road position to give me more under clearance.

If you look under the car just behind the sill you will see what look like rubber bungs. There is a plastic pin in the middle use a flat head screwdiver to prize it out or use some pliers once started. Once out you can the prize the bigger square bung out. Its in fairly well so you will need some force.

Once out this will expose a oval hole in the chassis. This is the fixing point. In the fitting kit there will be a piece of metal that has a nut welded to it.

Now for the tricky bit... Carefully feed the piece into the hole with the nut facing down. It will not fit into the hole it will rest at angle. Then take the bracket with the bolt and washers on and carefully try and catch the nut untill it takes. This is the tricky bit. A steady hand and patience is needed. But once you have a thread pull down to stop the nut from spinning and tighten up.

Repeat for all 4...

The rest is self explanatry.
