Hi Folks,

Does anyone have a link to the above please, particularly interested in the dash warning lights, what all the buttons do and what options should be fitted as standard.

Cheers

Andy

i got mine on ebay...the first was the rave manual...its free and i paid for it...on a cd...i was new to this stuff...the second was a cd one also but it covers 1948 to 1994...its prety good...think about 20$ us...give or take..

Thanks for the link guys, I've downloaded the zip file.
Unzipping nearly gave my old laptop a heart attack!!, but I can take it outside and it's no great loss if it gets damaged.

Long term a paper copy will be a better option cos there's no way I'm printing a 1000+ pages. Hopefully a few of them will have the info I need right now to sort out my annoying electrical issues.

true...i wouldnt print out 1000 pages eather...but for..me...i prefer the computer..its easer to search out what i want then print that....good luck with all your projects....itll be fun...

Can anyone answer a simple question please.

When the abs light came on it was accompanied by another orange light, looks like 2 circles separated by dots or a dash.

Am I correct in thinking that this indicates brake pad wear.

Cheers

Looked at the pic and it's not that one, BUT the binnacle warning lights are exactly what I am looking for at the moment. Any chance of posting the rest please.

These are from the 88-89 handbook, but the lights and meanings should be the same...

Thanks for posting the pics, most are the same which is useful.
Unfortunately the one I'm interested in isn't there nor is the abs light, so I'm guessing that the 2 lights are only on later models.

Going to put the 2 bulbs back in that I pulled for the mot and then post a pic.

Cheers

Have just had a breeze through this - the light you want to know about; is it top right, looks a bit like an exclamation mark with big dots each side? If so that is the traction control light and it would make sense it is lit with ABS warning as the traction control is part of the abs system.

The light below it is an exclamation mark, also orange in colour - this is the EFI warning light.

The warning lights are different on the later models and also slightly different between US and UK variants.

If ABS and TC lights on you need to check system - get a blink code from the ABS ECU (do a search on how to do this - been posted lots!) it is most likely a sensor fault but get a blink code first.

These are from the P38, but I guess they would be similar as they would no doubt need to conform to some bollow EU directive I guess.....

No I don't think so, at least not on a pre-soft dash classic. I don't know about the soft dash as that was a fore runner for the P38 in a number of ways. I'll have to have a look at rave as that was based on a '95 soft dash classic (or at least my copy is).

I have previously posted all I had on the Classic too....88-89 manual...a few posts ago too...

I am sure the lights on the softdash and the P38 are similar...not in the same place, but similar in meaning though...but yer never know....it may help it may not, I never said my reply was definitive...!!!

Finally got the fiddly little **** back in.

Pic attached, it's the orange one.

According to the vehicle hand book, it says if the ETC (Electronic Traction Control) light comes on and stays on there is a fault that has disabled the ETC.

I note your ABS light is on, my previous post refers - get a blink code.
