I bought one last year after my rad blocked.:p
i did mention to him about a bit of carpet and some bungee cords to help prevent problem in future , come to think of it rehand had some slightly soiled carpet he was trying to get rid of:doh:

I think a muff or a bit of carpet is a great souding investment.. quick search only reveals them for sale for series and deependers so guess the bit of carpet is the solution..

You may be able to use a defender one modified. If you get the measurements for your grill I'll measure my rad muff.

cheers ratty.. so do you still need to clean the rad after a trip to the plains or does it protect completely??

never rely on trust, Tigger - it is always best to rely on yourself and do it every time - if it is not necessary, it wont do any harm.

unless you scre up the thread on the oil coooler and lose your oil eveywhere.. not that I'm talking form experience of things being done up wrong on my motor of course...

I always give my rad a quick blow over with a hosepipe when I get the opportunity (unfortunately not that often) but as long as you close the muff before wading in MUDDY water you should be fine. When there has been a dry spell on the plain the water holes are more mud than water. Cos I spend most of my time as tail end that means everyone else has churned the silt up too. I know it's a pain openeing and closing it but in your case it should help your electrics when wading too.
