when they first put bmw diesel in range rover they had trouble with thrown con-rods it was said at the time that the engine was uprated and better seals for range rover. I've towed serveral in in early days

How can 130 odd bhp have the power to break a rod it barely can make a rr move!

when first out we collected 10 of them with thrown rods as a recovery group-others will say different but our experience
