Hi all

Annoyed to find slow puncture in NSF tyre (plenty of tread left).

When I replace it, was going to get the (new) spare swapped with one of the others so the new tyres are fitted as a pair. (Spare doesn't match - same tyre but different rim)

Should the new tyres be fitted to front, to rear, or doesn't it matter?

I know this is a serious issue with the F***lander (must never fit new pair just to front), but is there any reason to chose one or other for a Defender ?

new ones better on the rear.

why replace the tyre? is it not repairable?

It might well be (not that I've ever had one repaired) but I don't really have the time to find out. At the weekend we're off to sunny Somerset for a week (and then North Devon for a second wk), and I can't risk it failing on us while we're away.

Might ask 'em to have a look once it's off, to see if there's any point trying a repair.

If yer going off road I reckon the new uns are better on the front, so you've got most grip on the directional wheels.

I agree wif Grunt. I had my new mud terrains on the front and my worn all terrains on the rear. Virtually never got stuck.

Howzabout - Take it into Kwik**** or somewhere, get 'em to put the good spare tyre on the other rim & get them to repair the punctured tyre & put it on your spares rim. If it's only a slow puncture it probably is repairable & it's gorra be a cheaper but safe option. ;)

I carry a spare inner tube aswell as a spare just to be safe. You could always get the tyre tubed.
