Hi all,

Am excited and frustrated about my new purchase - a '97 300tdi auto Disco. Excited, for obvious reasons, but frustrated as I have been unable to collect it yet because it's impossible to tax  ! Won't let me do it online (perhaps cos tax is expired), so I have to wait for the insurance cert ot arrive in the post so I can leg it off to the PO asap!

Anyway, based in Chester / N Wales region and looking forward to some LR fun :D !

It'll be because the insurance isn't on the database yet.

It is on the database. Wasn't yesterday, but they have an online checker which is showing the vehicle as insured this morning.

Unfortunately, I get a message telling me:

"Unable to Use Service

Unfortunately, because of the tax class of the vehicle or recent changes to the vehicle record, you are currently unable to apply for a tax disc or declare SORN using this service.

You will need to apply for the tax disc or declare SORN at a licence-issuing Post Office® or DVLA Local Office (as applicable for the vehicle) using the reminder (Vehicle Licence Application/SORN Declaration) or the Registration Document/Certificate together with the Insurance Certificate or Cover Note, MOT Test Certificate/GVT Test Certificate (if applicable) and fee."

Oh well, just have to wait till tomorrow...

fookin ell - anuvva sheep shagger.

still, more competition fer Yella.

welcome to loonyzone.

so are yer in chester or north wales? mek yer fookin mind up

Geographically I'm Wales (just!), but the postcode is England! So if the truth be told, I live in Wales, whatever the postcode says. Flintshire, to be exact, but Wrexham aint far away...

You can't make your mind up round here - Wales is full of the English and Chester is full of the Welsh! :D

Off to the PO soon with my ins cert, reg doc and MOT - let's see what reason they can give me for not taxing me this time...

And we're in business! Just had to fill in a V10 and got my tax disc - hoorrah!

Collecting the car tonite!:D Kids have been very cross that Daddy's Blue Truck hasn't been brought home yet!
