anyone identify what the issue is with this new rattle? did not notice it while buying on Thursday nor or 250 mile trip back???

Run it with the aux belt off for a minute and see if it still rattles. That should narrow down the possibilities.

Sounds like one or more pulleys or the alternator has a bearing going west ....
