Plug can be dismantled and push tags crimped a bit tighter, but if it has overheated thatwont work. Replace crimps or complete connector assy.

You should have a little spring jobber on the back of the alternator like the one in the picture that will hold the wires in place

Cant see one Mate, will have a good look tomorrow,to be honest I am just feeling about for things as cant really get to the alt, will let you know Mate. Thanks Very Much

No worries, I've just noticed that yours is a 200tdi and this is off a 19j but have a good look and if you want it let me know

Just had a look and theres definatly not one there, also cant seem to see or feel the holes that it would fit in, the alt looks quite New but the plug is the old one, not sure if this will make a difference on the new alt?

Give MHM's suggestion and see if that improves the connections

Just had a look for my order and I replaced mine with one of these in Aug 2013. Not had any bother from it:

BRAND NEW ALTERNATOR 12V VOLT 75 AMPS LUCAS A127 STYLE PINTO/LEYLAND LEFT HAND | eBay

Think it's a left hand one needed. I actually ordered a right hand one, so I had to dismantle it and rotate it to make it left hand but please double check as mine is non-standard!

I brought this when my alternator went south and it's been good so far.

Sounds to me like alternator is fecked, easy to change

Dont want to speak to soon, but Crimped spades a bit tighter as M H M said untill the plug was tighter fit and it started charging at 14 .2 straight away, give it a short run out now its on 13.99 to 14 so hopefully this might have sorted it, will get one of these and fit it too 3 PIN TERMINAL PLUG LUCAS ACR BOSCH ALTERNATOR CLASSIC CAR | eBay sure it is the same fitment.
