Well today was going to be a positive day, but as usual being the owner of a RRC it was not.
Bit the bullet last week and ordered a new cooling radiator after looking at my CD parts manual (ESR80) for my 1986 RRC 3.5EFI Auto. Tried to fit it this afternoon and it is: 1, About 8mm taller. 2, Has two outlet pipes near the filler plug (mine has one). 3, The bottom outlet pipe on the radiator is angled at about 45 degrees, mine is 90 degrees.

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Does the later NTC 5632 pipe fit (it has an extra thin long pipe attached to it).

'Ah so I'm not the only one that's found Classic rads differ! With genuine rads no longer available from LR (when they were a few years ago the price was well in excess of £400) aftermarket ones tend to be generic. Mine was from BP & has never been a problem other than it was slightly LOWER resulting in the cowl being left off (I'm working on that) due to fan blade clearance problems at the top. Like yours it's got two outlets from the top tank, just block one off as it's for the carb equipped engine version. Sorry, can't help with the bottom outlet query.

Norseman thank you for your reply. I have since found out that the 1987/1988 model year RRC had a mix of different radiators, pipes and expansion tanks on the 3.5 V8. I am going to try a NTC5632 pipe tomorrow to see if it fits ok. If not I will get the old radiator - re-cored and return or sell the incorrect one.

I wish I had done the same with mine, as the rad was probably the original & 22 years old I thought it best to replace it - hindsight is a wonderful thing
