Anybody use them?

Are they as easy to fit as the company suggests?

Got some on the P38.
O.K. if you just open the window a crack for a bit of ventilation. Open it enough to flick your fag ash or rest your elbow and I can't see any benefit.
I had a nightmare fitting them according to the instructions (windows open) but they popped in no problem with the windows closed.

I've got them on a Defender 110.

As I always drive with the window open they keep the rain out whilst allowing the window to be open a few inches. Very tall drivers might have a problem where the deflector distorts the view when pulling out of junctions, but I always look twice anyway, so not a hassle.

The front ones fitted without a problem, although I'm not sure I got the back ones right as they stand slightly proud of the window frame.

On balance I would fit them again on another vehicle and would probably replace the current ones in two to three years when the scratches render them opaque.

I have wind deflectors fitted on my Disco 2. They aren't the Climair ones but HEKO.

The fitting would seem to be similar in that they go up into the window channel, but from what I can see there are some slight differences.

The HEKO ones have a smear of adhesive on the edge which sits against the outside edge of the window channel and they are also supplied with some stainless steel spring clips which are pushed up into the window channel to help keep things in place.

The only trouble I had with fitting them was that the little spikes stamped on the clips weren't sticking out enough to be totally effective, but a bit of poking with a fine screwdriver sorted that out.

I'm quite pleased with them and they do seem to do the job they were designed to do; and as a smoker I've found that just cracking the window open about half an inch the effect is to create a slight vacuum which draws the cigarette smoke out of the gap.

Cheers for the comments guys. I'm not a smoker but I am 6' 5" so I need to get my wheels on and test the "line of sight" issue.

I have the slightly cheaper stick on jobbies - all makes I think from memory.

Went on a dream - dry fitted 'em first, ie without the sticky tape exposed to get a level. Then wiped down the window surround with a few flash wipes and let the residue evaporate. The buggers went on really easily and have stayed put at speeds upto and over 100mph.

As others have said - great for having the window open a crack just for some air flow. Really paid off in France this summer as our disco don't have posh stuff like aircon!

hi i've got the climir wind deflectors on my disco had them a few years easy fit just open window an they just clip up inside window channel then open an close window a few times let them settle great for little ventilation when needed

Looking good. From what I can see, yours are stuck on the frame right? How's the adhesive holding?

Absolutely fine, gave the paintwork a wipe down with white spirit to de-grease/clean it, gave it a minute to evaporate/dry properly, and that was a good 2-3 years ago

Thinking about it, it might have been an alco-wipe, I just know I wiped it down with something, I've slept since then thoughwhatever it was it seems to have done the job

So Climair owners, how far is the bottom edge below the inside of the window frame? I'm going to run some insulation tape at the same height to see if it distorts my view.
