Hi all ive got at least 1 stud snapped on exhaust manifold replacing all 10 at the weekend plus manifold gasket but do I need to have the manifold skimmed ?:)

I'd say the the snapped studs were caused by the manifold warping. Get it checked at a good engineering shop. Should be about £40 to £50 to have it skimmed.
 
I had a broken stud on mine a few months ago managed to drill it out with a left handed drill bit came out easy check and mine didn't need skimming

Check the manifold for warpage against a solid straight edge such as a steel rule. If it's flat it doesn't need skimming.

It's a good idea to cut into the webs between the ports with a fine disc cutter, this reduces the possibility of future warpage.

Thanks all I had 3 snapped studs but all new now but did notice a few things melting so there must be some heat under there.
