so technically locking the transfer box not locking the prop:fencing:No it locks the centre diff in the Transfer box, which locks both prop flanges so they turn at same speed.![]()

So permo 4wd the transfer box contains a diff my transfer is fudgedso I will replace ASAP

Ermm nope ya can slide slide get stuck etc etc even with Difflock engaged. It doesn't lock the wheels Just the props. if you lose grip then your wheels can still slip..

Wet grass can be like driving on grease,speshly on a clay soil.
Didnt see that I was writing my post, jumping out of gear is a prob, you should be able to replace parts tho, shouldnt need a new t/ box they are simple technology easy to fix.The bit of rope holding it in gear means its knackered though just gaining valuable knowledge
