Hi,

I need to put a spotlight on the rear of my disco as the windows are tinted and in the dark I can see bugger all behind when reversing. however, I have no electrical skills whatsoever.
Can anyone tell me in lay mans terms (read thick as mince) how to wire one in?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Fit to rear of car drop cable down connect into reverse light wiring :)
Should only be 2 wires off light 1 connected to a good earth point the other into the positive on the reverse wire.

Fitting a spotlight to the existing reverse light wiring, let's hope the fuse blows before the reverse switch and/or wiring melts.

Run a seperate fused circuit from the battery switched via a suitable power rated illuminated switch on the dash and use as required, afterall you won't want to use the spotlamp during the day will you.
And if you must fit an additional lamp use a foglight it has a better spread of light, unless you want to see 500m plus into the distance.:D

Er.. I'm sure your spots are not connected to the reverse lights, although a relay switching a seperate circuit and only consuming a few miliamps is.
