Do all Disco's have **** wiring or just mine?????

There seems to be no logic at all just mix n match wires everywhere almost like so long as its the right colour it'll do.

Oh and please if anyone gets the bright idea to wire in extra lights or fits higher wattage Bulbs to a Disco FIT A ****ING RELAY!!!!

Thats right do a proper job dont just scratch your asses and wire it into the circuit with ****TY piggyback connectors then wonder why it doesnt work or blows the switch.

If a fuse blows and continues to blow check the ****ing circuit for a short dont use housing grade interior wire to run both sidelights

Next thing on my to do list,

Since I bought my Disco I've renewed the plugs on the headlights after removing the 30 foot of wiring connecting spots and horrible little fog type lights all running through the headlight circuit without a relay the wire used was household wiring (with the grey insulation still on) with 100w zenon lights in the headlights oh and all connected using those horrible piggy back connectors.

No wonder I've burnt out 2 lightstalks got it working sufficiently for MOT but will be wiring in Relays at next opportunity (finances halting work)

You know that after a certain amount of time the copper in the wires gets a coating of oxidation.

Cutting this back to 'good' wire and you might as well rewire the item or make a new loom for that section.

To make a new loom, best bet is to nail the routeing pattern onto a piece of plywood, lay out the wires.

To make it look nice either lace it or use heatshrink sleeving.

I may have done this before.

Done a bit meself think by the next MOT I will know my wiring quite intimately.

While I'm on about the wiring the multiplugs that connect various circuits at the bulkhead are they still available or should I just get soldering?

Was thinking of uprating the headlight looms under the bonnet when I replace the inner wings see (and fitting a proper relay bank for the lights)

Yip the standard wiring is pants when it came to building my 90 I ended up making all new Looms for it, it took about a week to make them up. I found it easer with the wood and nail thing that dippypud mentions. but I did use some good quality wire to do and a fook load of realys suprising how meny are needed to get the job done.
