I don't see what's so bad about them to drive. The Gaylander TD4 provides decent performance overall and good MPG considering its age and size. It is also provides a decent level of comfort, both on and off road imo. For me, it also has the "go anywhere" feel to it. Though I'm sure that's very subjective.

I drove a BMW E46 325 on Friday and while I do like them very much, I did miss the ride height and bulk of the TD4 in comparison. I felt much more vulnerable in the BMW.

Only thing I don't like about my TD4 is the ground clearance (or lack of) and the reliability. If the TD4 is considered "good" for reliability in comparison to the others, then I dread to think what the others are like.

The L series in this one 117k slow as hell-made my lorry look like mings rocket ship.

Just thought it was worth a giggle as people know I'm not keen on them.

Td4 lump not bad but one I drove suffered turbo lag that a rover 75 diesel didn't:D

So you'll be buying the v6 then instead?

Funny man, the original T series Tickford vitesse lump wound up would be fun.

If any one want's to lend my a gaylander for green laning
(damage wavier) I'll take one out:p 1.8 k series even

as long as I can hand it back broken

Anyone else noticed the lack of gaylanders in the stolen section ? ..... wonder why :D.. maybe theres not many gay pikey hairdressers out there

You could leave the doors open (if they int falled orf yet), the keys in the ignition with the engine running and no-one would WANT to nick it;):D
There's plenty of Freelander stolen each year. You'll agree far too many. But you have to admit a tratter is easy to pinch. The alarm int bob proof to disable, and the doors can be taken off easily too. Thats if the bolts int rusted solid. They'd have to return the following day when the plus gas has had time to work. :p
